I am a Director and co-founder of the Sababi Institute, an independent research organization based in Hargeisa, Somaliland, which seeks to conduct and facilitate rigorous research in regions neglected by most scholars, especially Somalia. At Sababi, I study social and political behavior, survey methodology, and work to develop new sources of primary data. My current work is focused on ethnic and clan politics, democratization, and the Somali customary justice system (xeer).
Previously, I was the Director of Research at Consilient Research, based in Hargeisa, the Chief Research Quality Officer at Forcier Consulting, and a Ph.D. candidate at the Woodrow Wilson Department of Politics at the University of Virginia. A copy of my academic CV is available here, and a copy of my development consulting CV available here. |
